Senior Adult Day Services was found- ed in 1979. The mission of Adult Day Services is to provide a service to improve the quality of life and contin- ued involvement in the community for persons who are 60 years or older who have a handicap. Additionally. our services provide respite for family members and caregivers. (Scroll over, button below)
There are three meal sites throughout Jackson County which serve hot lunches. All sites operate Monday through Friday. All meals are approved by a registered dietician and meet at least one third of the Required Daily Allowance for nutrition. Diabetic diets are available upon request. Chef salads are available with 24 hour advance request. Advance reservations are requested. Suggested donation is $3.00 per meal.
Home delivered meals are available throughout much of Jackson County. All meals are approved by a registered dietician and meet at least one third of the Required Daily Allowance for nutrition. Home delivered meals are available to those persons who are determined by a formal assessment to be homebound or otherwise unable to attend a congregate meal site. Suggested donation is $3.00 per meal.
Trained workers provide in-office and outreach services plus information and assistance.Among the services provided are: Assistance with filling forms for the BEAM Program, Assistance with Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance companies. Needs assessment and referral follow-up, assistance with access to other agencies and assistance for Caregivers.
There is assistance for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. For information please call the Social Service Office at: 618-457-4151
Jackson County funds help provide transportation for seniors throughout Jackson County on a limited basis. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 618-457-4151. The suggested donation is 50 cents per ride.
Adult Day Services is a caring, supervised environment for clients.
